This talk looks at where AI stands today: what is working, who the current winners of the AI race are, and whether this is a bubble or a breakthrough, or both. It also zooms in on the future. What does it take for a region to be competitive in this space? Perhaps without us realising it yet, a technological paradigm shift is happening, and it is one that holds great opportunities for Europe. There are reasons to be pessimistic in the short term but hugely optimistic in the long term.
