Steven Latré is one of Belgium's leading voices on artificial intelligence, with a career in AI spanning more than 20 years, long before it entered the mainstream. He is Vice President AI at imec, the world-leading semiconductor research centre, where he oversees AI offerings for system-level and application-level customers. Previously a professor of AI at the University of Antwerp and Chief AI Officer at Openchip, he has built and led highly technical teams at the intersection of AI and hardware throughout his career. As a footnote: more than 15 years ago, his research team helped develop the technology behind the Tomorrowland wristbands.
