
Merlin van Lawick grew up in Tanzania, where he has spent the last decade supporting the Jane Goodall Institute's conservation programmes. Following in the footsteps of his grandmother, Dr. Jane Goodall, he combines expertise in conservation science with hands-on advocacy and community organising. His work on the ground includes managing an urban forest in Pugu, piloting community mapping tools across Tanzania, and leading youth action initiatives through Roots & Shoots Zanzibar. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in nonprofit management at the University of Minnesota.
