Juan Diego Alvarez Ospina is a PhD researcher at VITO and KU Leuven, working at the intersection of process and materials engineering for the construction industry. His research focuses on innovative approaches to reduce the environmental impact of cement manufacturing and support the transition to more sustainable building. Deeply connected to his home country, he is committed to building bridges for education, scientific exchange and industrial collaboration between Europe and Colombia. An optimist by nature and a storyteller in training, he believes that by working together we can help create a better world for future generations.
