Jan van Hövell is the founder of KLABU, a sports club building global infrastructure to support refugees rebuilding their lives. Growing up abroad in countries with large refugee populations, including Bangladesh and the former Yugoslavia, he became interested early in how to support displaced communities. At 18, he interned with UNHCR in Ghana. After a career as a corporate lawyer in Amsterdam, he left law to design a concept for long-term, global impact through sport. Today KLABU operates clubs in multiple countries, combining sport, community, and dignity to help refugees reclaim agency and rebuild lives.
