Daan Roosegaarde is a Dutch artist and innovator known for social design projects that explore the connection between people, technology, and nature. With his Studio Roosegaarde team, he creates iconic works including the SMOG FREE PROJECT (the world's largest outdoor air purifier), the VAN GOGH PATH (a glowing bicycle path), and SPARK (a poetic celebration of sustainable light). His projects translate challenges like energy transition and air quality into tangible experiences that shift perception and behaviour. Rather than predicting distant futures, Daan focuses on what he calls protopia: a future that improves step by step through responsibility, creativity, and collective action.
